Calibration Technician - HPLC
Job Summary:
The candidate in the Metrology position will have a critical role in supporting and expanding the companys equipment calibration and preventative maintenance program while maintaining cGMP compliance. This position performs calibrations, calculates, and records critical parameters in the certification of instruments and systems. This position also maintains the accuracy and proper functioning of the control and monitoring systems on various equipment and supports the calibration and maintenance program of the site/s. Creates calibration data and records as required per GMP requirements. Works closely with site management.
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
Create and maintain equipment files for measuring and testing equipment that requires calibration including the collection and completion and filing of data and information related to routine and specific procedures and tests performed.
Maintain and update the calibration system database using approved policies and procedures.
Set up standard and specialized laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other measuring and test equipment.
Verify and approve data generated during calibrations. Disassemble measuring and test equipment to inspect components for defects.
Troubleshoot, align, repair, and replace component parts and circuitry.
Plan sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.
Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ validations on equipment.
Help maintain equipment calibration and maintenance program compliance tools.
Participation and review of calibration and preventative maintenance documents.
Verify equipment program schedules on a monthly basis.
Ability to utilize their technical writing skills to write equipment-based documents.
Maintaining procedures, policies, and documents for the calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment within a cGMP laboratory.
Budget analysis for differing calibration programs.
Researching calibration standards requirements for laboratory
Some travel may be required
Other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelors degree with experience in a science or engineering discipline is preferred
Experience:
4-8 years of relevant experience
Troubleshooting/working knowledge with HPLC, and other related equipment
Candidate must understand metrology concepts, read and follow detailed calibration procedures, basic math, and ability to read and understand drawings, and schematics.
Knowledge of basic metrology principles in mechanical, electrical, and physical science.
Experience calibrating simple instruments such as balance, pipette, pH meters, etc.
Computer literate with experience using and maintaining Calibration Management Software, Project management software, MS Word, MS Excel, and other equipment-specific software.
GMP and GDP: 4 years (Preferred)
Calibration: 4 years (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Key attributes of the successful applicant include:
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with high expectations and rapid change
Experience with the development and validation of automated equipment and systems in a regulated facility
Willingness to work as a lead within cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills

Must successfully pass background and drug screen
