Summary:
Chemists in this position are responsible for overseeing the routine testing of the Chemistry Operations department, which includes Technicians and Chemists. This position requires leadership skills, excellent communication, and a knowledge of compliance, regulations, and standards in a GMP laboratory setting.
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
Assist in scheduling all onsite work for the Chemistry department.
Participate in conference calls, e-mails, and meetings with Quality regarding Quality Events as a technical subject matter expert, as needed.
Provide technical support and act as a resource for the department.
Improve the knowledge of the department through continuing education, discussions, and research.
Educate laboratory personnel in regulatory standards and industry practices.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continuous improvements.
Relay laboratory capabilities to Chemistry Laboratory Manager.
Ensure that all internal procedures (SOPs) are followed during training.
Inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies to maintain par levels.
Perform routine analyses in the lab.
Update SOPs for improvement to methods.
Assist with Quality Event Investigations
Education:
Bachelors degree (B.S/B.A.) or higher in a science-related field.
Experience:
Must have 2+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation specifically HPLC (FTIR and ICP, etc. are useful).
Strong aptitude for troubleshooting instrumentation and processes.
Familiarity with chemistry and laboratory terminology.
Has knowledge and understanding of ISO/EM standards and guidelines.
Experience with FDA regulatory requirements (GLP/GMP/ISO17025)
Experience with USP test methods and/or knowledge of AAMI standards
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and LIMS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires knowledge of FDA, cGMP, cGLP, GDP, ISO, USP, and ANSI/AAMI.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 is preferred.
Is open-minded, self-confident, self-motivated, mature, personable, and cooperative.
Is enthusiastic about problem-solving and motivational toward the team.
Displays sound judgment and ambition; is quality focused; displays effective communication skills; good implementation and follow-up skills; possesses strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
Is comfortable with the goals, values, and philosophy of Infinity Laboratories.
